A Roadside Unit Deployment Optimization Algorithm for Vehicles Serving as Obstacles

As an important direction of topology management and infrastructure construction in Internet Vehicles (IoV), the problem roadside unit deployment has been discussed a lot. Considering communication occlusion caused by mobile vehicles, novel multi-objective optimization under constraints target road coverage reliability is proposed this paper. Firstly, traffic flow model vehicle introduced, channel considering practical two-ray knife-edge diffraction model. Then, on basis analyzing difficulty problem, Improved Artificial Bee Colony algorithm based Neighborhood Ranking (NR-IABC) Greedy Heuristic (GH) are to approximately solve problem. The NR-IABC applies “Neighborhood Ranking” method reduce search domain, then further solution time. In order avoid local optimum, sensitivity pheromone used as selection strategy replace traditional roulette algorithm. addition, mutual attraction between bees involved neighborhood following bees, new nectar source generated according reverse learning worst at end each iteration. Finally, results comparative simulations real-life datasets show that NR-IABC-based can always deploy fewer RSUs, thus more cost-effective compared with GH-based solution.
